Julian Breslow Speaks about Home

2021 | screenprint | 18 x 18 inches

Julian Breslow Speaks about Home stems from an invitation by Ten x Ten Homeroom Chicago for artists to collaborate with musicians.

The collaboration between composer Amy Wurtz and artist Susan Giles explores memory and gesture situated in recollections of the idea of "home". Using the same source material of a recorded story and gestures of a member of a choir for senior citizens with early-stage memory loss, and their caretakers, the artists develop dual works that bring into focus the ways movement and sound are connected to memory, place and emotion. This work was printed with support from Spudnik Press Cooperative.

Amy Wurtz’s composition will be presented on 9/25/21 at the Ear Taxi Festival.  More information will be announced on Homeroom.
